Do you know about the date June 21? If not, its International Yoga Day celebrated annually all over the world since it was incepted in 2015 for the physical, mental and social well-being declared by the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) on Deember 11, 2014. Yoga and meditation is a physical, mental and spiritual practice attributed all over the world, mostly to South Asia. This year also 21st June is approaching to us and its International Yoga Day 2016.

With the increase in our modern life style, socio-economic and industrial changes, people from western region are attracting towards the Asian countries mainly the Himalayan nations like Nepal, Bhutan, India and Tibet, the importance of yoga and mediation is going rising day by day. On the occasion of this day, Nepal Yoga Association has initiated preparation in coordination with Nepal Tourism Board to celebrate the International Yoga Day conducting several programs.
Yoga and Meditation in Nepal has been a part of tourism as the Nepal is the best destination for the tourists to enjoy the local culture, tradition, nature and Himalayas which provides them the opportunities to experience the organic life with the local foods and life style.
Its a big day for yoga personalities and yoga enthusiasts to take part in Nepal like Yoga Rally, Meditation, Pranayama and asana practice followed by the yoga experts with the organic yogic meals.
Government to mark 2nd International Yoga Day
B. P. Koirala India-Nepal Foundation and Embassy of India organised a programme under its ‘Voices’ series as part of celebrations of the 2nd International Day of Yoga on Monday.During the occasion, Minister of Culture, Tourism & civil Aviation, Anand Prasad Pokharel highlighting the benefits of yoga announced that the government is all set to organise an event to celebrate the 2nd International Day of Yoga at Darbar Marg on 21st June at 7AM.
Likewise, Yoga Consultant of Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dr HR Nagendra and Swami Anand Arun of Osho Tapoban highlighted the need for meditation as part of yoga practices.
Similarly, Indian Ambassador to Nepal Ranjit Rae remarked that Yoga was the common heritage of Nepal and India and its regular practice would improve not only physical health but also mental & spiritual well-being.
